Greetings my fellow Groovsters,
I just finished the last of the vocals for the upcoming "Parlour Soul Sessions". Now it has to be mixed then mastered. My good friend and artist Larry Parkes is finishing the art work as I type. As always it is very cool. Danny in Seattle has been the driving force behind this project.
I flew out to Seattle got into a car and drove to Oregon where we recorded Andy Gauthier and his power house drumming for 3 days. Drove back to Seattle where I wrote lyrics and I sang the songs. We really hunkered down and got the work done. We did take one afternoon to go down to the water and have the best fish and chips. I could very easily move there but I would miss my little family way too much. Just goes to show that no matter what family matters come first, I digress.....and I`m back.
Typically Feb is the slowest months for gigs and please check back because I never know when I will be picking up gigs. Soon Pappy`s in Stillwater Mn will be open and all will be right with the world....Peace out Mothers.........j.

Hello to all and best wishes during these bleak winter months. I am flying to Seattle on the 26 of november to finish recording the "Parlour Soul Sessions". Danny will pick me up then we travel down the coast to hook up with Andy. This is going to be off the chain and a nice winter break for your humble narrator.
The chance to record with my Metro All Star alumni Danny Mangold and drummer extraordinaire Andy Gauthier is a blessing.
We have probably the best written tunes of our careers. Andy has turned into an excellent arranger and producer. Maybe he always had that but was relegated into just being the 'drummer guy'. Either way he is blowing me away with his attention to detail. Danny and I are beside ourselves at his energy. Anyway here are my dates with vintageRAGGS and The Hunyuckers........come out and ROCK A WHILE. vintageRAGGS has been on a tear lately and the Hunyuckers with my partner Brandon Lenz has never sounded better. Amazing what 2 guys can do. peace out and dream about PD Pappy's in the warm summer months.....god I miss that hang!!!!!!

Are you all ready for winter? The thing that bothers me most about winter is that PD Pappy`s is not open. Danny and I are close to finishing our new record "The Parlour Soul Sessions". Danny will be flying in in november and help me finish the vocals. All I can say is these are Danny`s finest works to date. The man is on a roll. There will be a show when it comes out so stay tuned.
vintageRAGGS has been doing an awful lot of rehearsing so we can make the people even happier. Since David Burkart and Brett Loben joined we have turned into an even more rockin machine. The band has been on fire as evident in our first time ever at the Narrows in Navarre Mn. Of course having Rick Olsen at the sound board doesn`t hurt. He made us sound so good, Thanks Rick.

A one-night event celebrating the release of the new CD, “The Side of the Road” featuring Jody Hanks, Andy Gauthier and Danny Mangold.
Jody Hanks (vocals), Danny Mangold (guitar) and Andy Gauthier (drums) will be performing at Brits, located on Nicollet Mall between 11th & 12th streets across from Orchestra Hall.
This will mark the first time these old friends and former Metro All Star band members have performed together in over 20 years.
A talented ensemble of players including Dave Burkhart (guitar, vocals) and Shane Wisnewski (bass),with Lora Copus (Vocals) will round out the lineup as they perform songs from their new CD “The Side of the Road” along with selected "most requested" Metro favorites.
Showtime is 8pm, seating is limited.

It's finally here !! Oasis records did an incredible job with my new CD produced and co-written by my long time musical compadre, Danny Mangold. Judging from the response on Reverbnation.com, you guys love the samples...well, the actual CD came out better than expected...extremely high quality and still retaining the "live" vibe that Danny and I strive for. It made it to the Top 10 on their Rock charts in less than 2 weeks here in Seattle.
Before we start looking for distribution, we wanted to make it available to you guys first at a reduced price of $10.00 plus $2.50 for domestic shipping and handling.
Now...why are we are more in favor of an actual CD as opposed to a download at this point?? Good question.. It's because the CD looks great, made of recycled paper...even the plastic disc tray is made of recycled water bottles...and it just sounds better in a car CD player or home CD system rather than laptop speakers.
