Minneapolis musician Jody Hanks had his first band in the 7th grade in Mandan, North Dakota. And as he might say, "the ruckus" continues. From a win on TV's Star Search with his Metro All Stars, to opening for James Brown and Edgar Winter Band and being the reigning house band at the notorious Cabooze, Jody never let up. He currently rocks the upper Midwest with his bands Vintage Raggs & the Honeyuckers.
"Spirit Outside the Door" is a collection of Hanks' originals. Hanks is a great songwriter, vocalist and multi-instrumental artist. He brings a thread of North Dakota decency, urban joyfulness, and a taste of debauchery with a full-blown rock and pop-rock backdrop. You walk away humming a hook. You yearn for a live concert. It's that good.

Jody is a singer that ‘other’ singers show up to listen to. He knows how to work every inch of the stage; a terrific entertainer to see in person! Jody has a great, warm stage presence; if you’ve never seen him before, when you leave the show you know you’ve got a new friend.
Jody’s a story teller. He tells great ones. His latest CD "Spirit Outside The Door" is full of "great ones". Dik Shopteau did a masterful job capturing Jody's playfulness and serious artistry. This is one of those "must have" recordings.....
